Getting Started with CBD

If this is your first time trying CBD, or you’re testing the water to see if CBD could be for you but are slightly curious or worried and have some questions you’d like answered before you take the dive, then have a read below of the most common questions asked by people before taking CBD. We have also included a timeline showing dosage instruction and the sort of experience you could have using CBD products.

No, the cannabinoid which give you the stoned feeling is THC. Depending on the product you buy, there is either trace amounts of THC (full spectrum) or no THC (broad spectrum) present in our products.

Yes, CBD products are 100% legal in the UK. The Home Office says CBD products can contain a maximum THC content of 0.2% and that the THC must not be easily separated from it.

The vast majority of people can benefit for using CBD products. It is advised that pregnant women and those which are breastfeeding should avoid. 

The short, simple answer is no. At the molecular level, CBD is neither addictive, nor does it produce the so-called stoned effect that THC does

Which product should I start with?

We recommend starting on a low to medium strength and working your way to where you feel comfortable. A good place to start is with a 5% CBD oil in an MCT carrier, you can find HERE.
The MCT CBD oil is a very palatable oil so doesn’t give a bitter, hoppy taste like the Hemp Seed varieties, although some people do prefer the stronger tasting oils.

Taking your first dosage

Following the instructions on the packaging, you take your first dosage. After about 10 – 20 minutes after taking the dosage some people report feeling a slight calming effect. This won’t impact on your thought process and you will be able to go about your daily routines as normal knowing you have the added benefit of CBD with you for the day. Others may not feel any instant effects and may require a higher dosage. It may take a few attempts before you know what works for you.

You should take at least 2 dosages a day to get the best results.

You’ve gone through your first day using CBD. If you’re taking CBD for Anxiety, you may have felt more confident in yourself than usual. If not, don’t worry, stick with it, you will most likely notice a difference in your mood by this time next week. If you are using CBD for pain, you will may have noticed the edge was taken off. Again, stick with it, things can only get better.

Take your evening dosage before bed to help you get a good nights sleep, as well as allowing your body to get used to CBD consumption.

Routine is key, keep taking your CBD dosages every morning and evening keeping in mind you can take an extra dosage throughout the day if you feel you need it.

A week has passed, feel different?

Today marks 1 week of taking CBD, ideally you have been consistent, if not, don’t worry. At this point you will have most likely noticed slight differences in your mood. Many people feel their anxiety levels have decreased, social situations seem that bit easier and conversations flow more naturally.

People managing pain will by now have a good understanding of the dosage required for dealing with their ailment. The pain hasn’t gone, but is much more manageable.

A week is a long time, but in the grand scale of things, you’re still just getting started. Continue what you’re doing, things are going in the right direction.

It’s been a month!

Congratulations, you got to a month of continuous CBD usage. You have your routine running like clockwork and you feel all the better for it. By this point you should be able to easily see the difference in yourself from the you a month earlier and are pleased where things are going.
At this stage you may feel like increasing the dosage or moving to a stronger oil to see if you can get to where you need to be, quicker.

Continuing the routine for as long as you want to assist your needs. If you stop for any period of time, don’t worry, you can start again when ever you like with no adverse effects. If you feel you wan’t a break, have one, there is no obligation to continue, having a break will let you feel how you are off CBD and can be a good indicator to feeling how much it’s helping.
